Dancing 3D Robot
Age Category: 13 – 18 Years
Task
Participants will design, print, and construct a 3D dancing robot using 3D printing technology. The robot must stand on two legs.
Each participant will be provided with consumable items by Be STEM Ready (screws, wires, electronic components). Additional parts are not allowed except for stability or aesthetics.
Robot Requirements
- Team: 1 participant per robot.
- Size: Maximum 15cm (H) × 15cm (W) × 15cm (L).
- Legs: Must have exactly 2 legs for dancing.
- Consistency: The same robot must be used throughout the video.
- Stability: Must stand independently without support.
- Integrity: Robot must not fall apart or be damaged during dance.
Competition Requirements
Video Submission Guidelines:
- Video Length: 2 minutes total.
- Dance Routine (1 min): Show at least 3 distinct dance moves with optional subtitles or transitions.
- Design & Storytelling (30s): Explain your idea, design rationale, and inspiration.
- Close-Up Shots (30s): Show full robot, electronics, and coding clearly.
Scoring
- Each unique dance move earns points.
- Stability (standing without support) earns points.
- Complexity of coding is scored based on block variety.
- Organisers may adjust scores to ensure fair competition.
